Agnes "Aggie" Veronica Mason, age 93, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025 in Zephyrhills, FL.
Born on December 17, 1931, in Orwell, OH, Agnes was the daughter of Anton and Louisa Horvat. She was the beloved sister to Evelyn Reis and twin brother, Robert Horvat. She spent her childhood years in Orwell, where she formed lasting friendships and cherished memories with her family.
Agnes married her husband, Jerold Leo Mason, on May 24, 1948, and together they built a loving family. She spent many years as a dedicated employee of the Post Office and later in life, made her home in Zephyrhills, FL, where she became a beloved member of her community.
In addition to her work, Agnes was deeply devoted to her family. She enjoyed watching baseball and all sports, especially those played by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Agnes was known for her incredible sense of humor and the fierce love she had for her family.
She is survived by her children: Phil (Becky) Mason, Mark (Pat) Mason, Jerry (Kathy) Mason, Tina (Mike) Stepp, and Matt (Pam) Mason; her grandchildren: Bruce Mason, Scott Mason, Kelli Mason, Carrie Rutkowski, Jerry Mason, Mike Mason, Jeremy Mason, Veronica Carpenter, Darrell Mason, Sean Mason, Samantha Mason, Christopher Mason, Jr., Nicole Buzard, and Michael Stepp. She was also the proud great-grandmother to 27 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Agnes was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jerold Leo Mason; her sons, Gene Mason and Christopher Mason, Sr.; her grandsons, Mark Mason, Jr. and Philip Mason, Jr.; as well as her sister, Evelyn Reis, and twin brother, Robert Horvat.
A lifelong friend to many, Agnes shared a special bond with Betty Moores, who was a cherished companion throughout her life.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home in Dade City, FL. Visitation will take place at 11:00 AM prior to the service. Following the service, Agnes will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Moffit Cancer Center.
