PATTY BATCHELOR March 16, 1922 April 9, 2024 Agnes Florence "Patty" Batchelor, 102, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born in San Antonio, Florida, in 1922, to Catherine Pike and Joseph DesRosier on March 16, the day before St. Patricks Day, she was called Patty her entire life. She was the third oldest of 10 children and the only one surviving. Patty attended St. Anthonys Catholic School in San Antonio, Florida, and later worked for the Peninsular Telephone Company in Tampa, before joining the Navy in 1942. On April 18, 1944, in Paterson, NJ, she married a handsome young Army Air Force sergeant, L.D. Batchelor, who would become her constant companion for the next 65 years until his death in 2009, and the father of her 5 sons. Patty was a loving daughter and aunt, a devoted wife and beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved traveling, collecting, quilting, antiquing, reading, going to garage sales, but most of all, being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant siblings Paul and Bernadette, brothers Kenny, Roman, Bobby and Charles, sisters Marie, Theresa, and Dottie; her husband L.D., son Jim, and daughter-in-law Carol. She is survived by her eldest son, Doug and wife Lucy from Fort Worth, Texas; Steve and wife Sue from Norris, Tennessee; Paul and wife Jackie from Swedesboro, New Jersey, and Greg from Audubon, New Jersey; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pattys memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 US Hwy 301, Dade City, FL 33525 with a Visitation at 2:30 followed by the Service at 3:00.
