RAWLINGS, Addie Delaine, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a resident of Dade City, Florida and Redington Shores, Florida, passed August 2, 2018. Delaine passed away after a long, courageous fight with cancer. She was employed with the Dow Chemical Company for 20 years and completed her career with the Alliance Safety Council of Baton Rouge. Delaine enjoyed playing golf at Lake Jovita Country Club and enjoyed the beach at Redington Shores where she was most at peace watching the sunsets and being spiritually connected with her savior. She was an avid bowler and competitor at Seminole Lanes.She is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Rawlings III, three daughters, Dayna Henderson of Baton Rouge, LA, Shantelle Palermo (Sal) of Walker, LA, Jamie Johnson of Dade City, FL, and an adopted grandson, Joseph M. Rawlings of Dade City, FL. Grandchildren that she loved dearly Johnny Grimmett, Charley Ourso, Kaitlyn Henderson, Sal Palermo III, Ethan Johnson, Ben Johnson, Olivia Johnson and Allie Johnson. Sisters Aline Whitehead of Shreveport, LA, Susan Mizell (Gerry) of Watson, LA. Brother David Whitehead (Rhonda) of Springfield, LA. She is also survived by a slew of nieces, nephews and cousins who she dearly loved.Delaine was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Gobiel, her fathers Thomas H. Whitehead and Albert "A.L." Vandross, step-mother Beulah Vedross, her beloved brother, Louis Whitehead, grandparents David V. and Elizabeth Martin, Elbert and Ruby Whitehead and Walter Louis and Marci Vedross.She had a most extraordinary life and loved every moment of it! She will be sorely missed by her family and friends who were always touched by her true nature of love and generosity. She was the truest of angels.
