Burnett, Mamie Frances Black, 53, of Zephyrhills, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. She had been a life long resident of this area and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lacoochee. Survivors include a son, Benjamin; two daughters, Heather Molden of Zephyrhills and Eva Blevens of Marion, Ohio; her father, Walter Black of Lacoochee; two sisters, Ann Musgrove and Elaine Wilson, both of Trilby; and eight grandchildren. De Rycke, Marietta, 91, Zephyrhills, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at her home. She was born Feb. 15, 1917 at Mishawaka, IN. They have lived in Florida since 1962. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Oscar De Rycke; two sisters, Camilla Saros, and Evelyn De Vos, both of Mishawaka, IN, many nieces, nephews and friends. Arthur David Lankford, 63, of Dade City passed away May 5th, 2008 at his home. He was born October 21, 1944 in Dade City to Perry and Mary Lankford. David was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army. Some of his enjoyments included fishing,
watching football, Nascar and playing the Lotto. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Roy and Billie Lankford. Cane, Pauline S. “Hey Mah” (Polly), 88, Wesley Chapel, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008 due to respiratory failure. She was born Oct. 17, 1919 in New Bedford, Mass. She is survived by her five children: Jeff, Steve, Candace, Lindsey and Christie; six grandchildren. Polly retired from James A. Haley Veterans Hospital after 22 years. She was an avid traveler, gardener and reader. There will be no memorial services. The family will have private services at a later date in Virginia. high school education. She was the daughter of Andrew and Antonina Carollo. She entered the Benedictine Sister of Florida on May 16, 1933; she made her temporary profession on December 29, 1934 and her perpetual monastic profession June 16, 1939. Sister did her undergraduate studies at Loyola
University in New Orleans, LA where she received a B.S. degree in Education with a Minor in Music Education. She also did post graduate work at Mount St. Scholastica’s in Atchison, KS,
St. John’s
University in Collegeville, MN, Dominican College in New Orleans, LA, Barry University in Miami, FL, and Belmont College in NC. Sister’s first teaching assignment was at Holy Name Academy and she also assisted at our boy’s prep school, St. Benedicts Preparatory School. LA, and St. Margaret Mary’s in Slidell. Besides teaching in the classroom, Sister also taught piano, violin, trained choirs and played the organ. In the summer she spent a number of years at the Good Counsel Camp where the Sisters taught Religion to the boys and girls who attended the camp. Sister Mary Ann spent 65 years in the classroom. She had a great love for teaching and her students. After her retirement in 2000, she spent a Sabbatical at Mount Angel Oregon. When her Sabbatical was completed she went back to Slidell, LA to be care giver to her two aged Sisters. In 2005 the hurricane did so much damage in Slidell that Sister returned to the monastery. Her two sisters went to family in Alabama and after a year returned to their home in Slidell. She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Antonina Carollo, five brothers: Russell, Charles, Peter, Victor, Frankie, and three sisters: Selena Fontana, Mary Siemssen, and Lucretia Carollo. She is survived by one sister, Louise Carollo, and many nieces and nephews. A Vigil service will be held 7:30pm Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Holy Name Monastery in St. Leo, FL. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:30am Friday, May 9, 2008 at Holy Name Monastery Chapel. Burial will be at St. Leo Abbey Cemetery. May the Good Shepherd welcome Sister Mary Ann and give her rest eternal. In lieu of flowers, family request donations in her memory to the Benedictine Sisters of Florida or the St. Anthony School.

Audlane “Ad” Marcella Berg Waterbury, 101, long time resident of Ridge Manor and formerly of Bedford, IN, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Heritage Park Care Center surrounded by her family. She was born September 21, 1906 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin
to Fred and Agnus Berg. Ad Waterbury was educated at a Business College and was employed with Michigan State Farm Insurance Co. as executive secretary/ office manager. Some of her enjoyments were cooking sweets, golf, travel, gardening, church, music and her friends but, above all, she loved her Lord. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Ridge Manor and a long time Pianist at the church. Mrs. Waterbury was predeceased by her husband, Chauncey Waterbury, 1 brother, Milton Lester Berg and 1 sister, Viola Berg Barnard. She is survived by 1 brother, Kenneth Donald Berg, Sr. of Houston, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; special family member and mother of 6 of her nieces and nephews, Betty Berg. was an 88M (truck driver) with F Company, 94th Battle Support Batallion, 10th Mountain Division and was deployed to Iraq with his unit in November of 2007. He was a dedicated soldier, respected by all that worked with him, who planned to make the ARMY his lifelong career. A multi-faceted personality, Marcus was the 'life of the party' who loved hanging out with his wife, vacationing with his parents, riding dirt bikes with his friends, playing with his neice and nephew and making others laugh. He is survived by his wife of six years, Julia Mathes, father Ralph Mathes, step-mother Joyce, mother Sue Sawyer, step-father Mike Sawyer, grandmother Dorothy Simpson, brothers Kyle Mathes and Zach Sawyer, step-brothers John and David Duff, parents-in-law Chuck and Lynda Ehrman, siblings-in-law Brett Ehrman and Bryan and Heather Harvey, and niece and nephew Elyse and Kayne Harvey. Funeral services are set for 12pm Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Calvary Assembly of God in Dade City. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with full military honors. James W. Revell
Revell, James W., 86, of Dade City, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. A native of Tallahassee, he moved to this area in 1962. With many years of service he retired from HRS as a Counselor for the Aged in Dade City. He was a US Navy Veteran in the
Pacific Theatre during WWII. He traveled extensively after the war, spending two years in Paris where he studied at the Sorbonne and also worked under the Marshall Plan in Austria. For three years he worked at the US Embassy in Pakistan. He was a graduate of Florida State University in 1948. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Dade City and loved gardening and reading. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lillie; a son, Tim Farley and wife Laura of Dade City, and Granddaughter Lauren Farley of Tallahassee; Grandson, Christopher James Farley and wife Melissa, of Ridge Manor and Great-grandson, Christopher C. Farley; three sisters, Jean Bivins, Doris Stewart, and Helen Hyatt; two brothers, Richard and Robert, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Nason and Ruby and a brother Nason, Jr. A Memorial Service is being planned. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church.

Dozier, Margaret L., 70 of Dade City, FL passed away on April 26, 2008 at Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City. She was born in High Springs, FL on October 12, 1937 to Elias and Gladys Hines. She is survived by her loving husband Jack; sons; Allen Gibson (Carol Anne) of Dade City; Tim Gibson (Jerry Kemp) of San Diego, CA; daughters; Roxanne Sikes (Ricky) of Lacoochee; Margaret Ann Williams (Roger) of Pensacola; brother; Travis Hines (Donna) of Bushnell; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A service will take place on Wednesday April 30, 2008, 1 pm with a visitation one hour prior to service.
Robert Melvin "Mel" Case
Case, Robert Melvin “Mel”, 84, of Dade City, passed away at home on Saturday, April 26, 2008. A native of Tallahassee, he moved to Dade City in 1946. He was the original owner of Standard Auto Parts and established Case Hardware in 1958. He was Baptist
by faith. He was the Past President of the Dade City Little League and was a long time Little League Coach and All Star Coach. During the 1960’s he was a member of the Dade City Planning Board. He was a US Army Veteran, landing on Omaha Beach
on D-Day and fought in the battle of St. Lo. He spent more than 300 days on the front lines in the European Theatre. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; his children, Sherrie Case (Jim Purcell), Bob Case (Judy), and Barbara Luckie (Charlie), all of Dade City; a sister, Elizabeth Barineau of Tallahassee; his grandchildren, Melissa Walters, Candice Lincoln, Bobbi Case, Matthew Luckie Lauren Luckie-Obrien and Rob Case; and his great grandchildren, Tye Watters-Brim, Braeden Lincoln, and Gaven Lincoln. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. Norman E. Wilson, Jr
Wilson, Norman E Jr, 73, went home to be with our Lord at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center in Dade City, Florida, on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, with his wife, daughter and son at his side. He was born on May 14, 1934, in Farmingdale, Maine. He was
the son of Norman E. Wilson, Sr and Eva Mae Durant Wilson. He lived in Gardiner, Maine, until 1970 when he moved to the Portland area until he retired to Florida in 1995. Norman loved camping, motorcycling and family gatherings. He always had a ready smile, a hearty laugh and a joke to tell. His favorite activity was spending time with his family and friends. Norman and his father owned and operated Wilson’s Market in Gardiner, Maine for many years. In 1966 Norman started a successful sales career with Sunshine Biscuit Company. He worked in the food brokerage business until he retired in 1995 from Roberts and Associates. After retirement, Norman worked part time for Citrus Chrysler in Dade City, Florida. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marilyn Henry Wilson he is also survived by his daughter, Christina and her husband Bryan Johnson of Lakeland, FL and his son Timothy and his wife Mary Dell Wilson of Oviedo, FL; his nine grandchildren, Jillian, Jennifer, Joanna, Joshua, Adam, Austin, Terry, Randy and Jonathan and one great-grandchild, Madison. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Wilson home in Dade City, FL, on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 1-4pm. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Cumberland Center, Maine. Rachel Mae Crews
Crews, Rachel Mae, 88, of Tampa, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2008. She was born in Perry, Florida, but grew up in on a farm in Zephyrhills. She moved to Ybor City in the 1940s and worked as a cigar roller for Hav-A-Tampa . She married Hubert Crews in
1955 and moved to North Tampa in 1958. She was an excellent cook and mother who, besides raising three sons, took in ironing and child care. An avid reader, although she only completed six years of primary school, she enjoyed working mostly for teachers, for whom she had a great deal of respect. She considered being an educator just as important as being a doctor or even a minister. She took great pride in sending teachers to work with clean, starched shirts and pants. She also loved to cook world-class Southern style vegetables and fried chicken for the kids under her care. She was a life-long member of the Assemblies of God. Survivors include three sons: Ray, a distribution manager at Cork and Olive; Terry, an English teacher at Chamberlain High School; and Gary, a Pasco County Sherriff’s deputy; and a very loving sister, Mertie Bird, who has taught Sunday School at First Assembly of God in Zephyrhills for over seventy years. She is also survived by three grand-daughters: Shannon, Melissa, and Jenifer. A viewing will be held from 5 - 7 PM, April 25, at Hodges Funeral Home, 36327 Hwy 54, Zephyrhills. Francisco and Santa Maria, California. Katharine moved to Dade City in 1962 from Santa Maria. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert F. Bardin, her parents, Morgan S. and Marian F. Tyler, two brothers, Morgan S. and Edward F. Tyler, a nephew, Steven G. Tyler, Dade City. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law and friend. She is survived by her four children, Robert F. and his wife Karen, Deanna and her husband A.R. "Chip" Mander III, Richard T. and his wife Dina Bardin, Tricia and her husband Derek Hall, four granddaughters: Morgan, Gentry and Shelby Mander and Bailey Bardin, two grandsons: Robert "Robbie" and Matthew Hall. Katharine is also survived by her sister Virginia Wenzel of Oceanside, CA and her brother John and DeDe Tyler of Spicewood, Texas, her sister-in-law Norma Hawes Tyler of Winter Haven, FL, Monique Tyler of California and Barbara Gresham, Santa Maria, CA. Her nieces Bunny Cass, Pam Tyler Montgomery, Lisa Snyder, Sherry & Kareen, Gail Gresham, Annie Gresham and Elizabeth Gresham all from California, Debra Syntaschk, Texas and Rena Ludwick, Colorado. She was a former member of the Pasco County Cowbelles, Dade City Garden Club, Santa Maria Valley Historical Society. Lois Marie Hendry Johnson
Johnson, Lois Marie Hendry, 71, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008 of heart failure at the Florida Hospital in Zephyrhills. Marie was born October 11, 1936 to William Johnson Hendry and Marjorie Jane Smith Hendry, in Dade City. Marie attended Moody Bible
Institute and graduated from Florida Southern College with a Bachelors degree in music. She received her Masters degree in Counseling from the University of South Florida. Marie was a music teacher in the Polk County schools, and served as organist for over fifty years for many denominations in Chicago, Polk County and Pasco County. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Henry Johnson, a sister, Diane Sue Mackie, and a son, Carl Henry Johnson, II. She is survived by two sons, Clyde and Sharron Johnson of Amboy, Washington, and Calvin and Karen Johnson of Lakeland, eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church at 21st and Howard in Dade City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Free Methodist Church. A Memorial Concert is planned for a later date.
Frank R. Petrock
Petrock, Frank R., 79, of Dade City passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008 under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City. He was born November 23, 1928 in Summit, NJ to Joseph & Margaret Elizabeth McCaffrey Petrock and moved to this area 10 years ago from Succasunna, NJ. He loved the sunshine, golf, and poker. He was a good man who loved to help others. He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Concetta V. Petrock, Dade City; 5 children: Margaret Gaffney, Andover, NJ, Anthony Petrock, Andover, NJ, Frank Joseph Petrock, Port Charlotte, FL, Anne Deem, Newton, NJ, Theresa Giordano, Hopatcong, NJ; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was a loving husband and father who loved all of his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many other family members. A memorial service will be held 2pm Monday, April 21, 2008 at St. Rita Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Hernando-Pasco Hospice. He will be missed tremendously. We love you.

Valcarcel, Nicholas, 78, Crystal Springs, FL, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008. He was born March 6, 1930 in Cuba. “Nick” as he was affectionately known to all his Sweetbay customers and coworkers will be missed by all. McLeod, William F., Sr., 84, Dade City, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008. He was a member, deacon and Sunday School teacher at Lacoochee Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of Pipefitters Local #123, Tampa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie and two sons, Thomas L. Sr. and Mark McLeod. He is survived by his son, William F. (Kimberly) McLeod Jr., Dade City; daughter, Deborah (Doyle) Johnston, Hampshire, TN; 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Services will be 11 am Monday, April 21 at Lacoochee Baptist Church with Rev. Eldridge Parrish officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens, Dade City.

Odum, Jr., Ernest C., 72, went home to his heavenly reward on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. He was preceded in death by his mother: Mrs. Rowen Odum, and his father: Ernest C. Odum Sr. He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Charlotte Odum; the proud parent of 7 children: Charlene & Bobby Russ, Rhonda & Matt Marble, Kelly & John DeMello, Emma Balha, Susan & Kraig Faber, Christopher & Tracy Odum, Raymond & April Wren Jr.; 4 sisters: Barbara Stewart, Nadine & Hilary Stewart, Becky Lou & Carl Sippel, Ernestine & Richard Finson. He was blessed by 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Odum was a member of the Croom-A-Coochee Baptist Church and enjoyed helping people. He had a very giving heart and liked to share his carpentry skills with those in need. He will be greatly missed by his loving church family and friends. Darrell John Steenburgh
Steenburgh, Darrell John, 78, went home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2008 very peacefully, with his wife of 56 years at his side at Heartland of Zephyrhills Nursing Home, where a resident of only 3 days. He was a native of New York, winter resident of Dade City since 1991 after retiring from the White Mop Wringer in Fonda, NY where he worked for 36 years. Born Sept. 1, 1929 in the town of Mohawk, Montgomery County, NY to the late John and Marion Steenburgh. Darrell graduated from Fonda High School, Class of 1949. Darrell enjoyed gardening (being a farmer in the younger years of his life), traveling, his family and many long time friends. Preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly; brothers John L. Arch; and a sister, Eleanor Crosby. Survivors include his wife, Frances; sons Jeffery and Kelley, both of St Johnsville, NY; a granddaughter, Shelley Waterman of Lee Center, NY; twin great grandsons, Andrew & William Waterman, NY; stepchildren, Michelle & Kyle; Sisters, Betty Havlicek (James), Lois Pettit (Ronald), and Donna Steenburgh; an aunt, Dora Steenburgh; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Donald Edward Storch, Sr.
Storch, Sr, Donald Edward, 74, of St. Leo passed away Monday, April 14, 2008 in Dade City. He was born January 1, 1934 in San Antonio to Edward Alexander Storch and Amelia Theresa Grief Storch and was a lifelong area resident. He was a retired Master Electrician and a member of St. Anthony of Padua. He served as a St. Leo City Commissioner and a San Antonio Volunteer Fireman, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Loyal Order of the Moose, the Pasco County Sheriffs Auxiliary and the NRA. He is survived by 5 children: Donald Storch, Jr., Nick Storch, Jody Storch, Christina Holt, Edward Alexander Storch; 3 sisters: Marlene Sumner, JoAnn Toner, Grace Smith; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Park Care Center for their loving care and attention during these last 6 years. A memorial service will be held 10:30am, Friday, April 25, 2008 at St. Anthony of Padua in San Antonio. George Elwood Hill
George Elwood Hill, 68, of Zephyrhills, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Tampa. He was born July 17, 1939 in Warminister, PA to Charles and Mable Hill. In 1960 he was united in marriage to Sarah Downs in Wildwood, Fl. After 43 years he retired as an Operating Engineer at International Union Of Operating Engineers. He had a passion for building race cars as well as racing his own, #9 race car. He was a member of the Zephyrhills Masonic Lodge. He helped initiate the founding of the Zephyrhills Moose Lodge. 2 brothers and 1 sister predeceased him. Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Sarah Hill; 2 daughters, Marie (Joseph) Giglio of Lakeland and Cynthia Davis of Lakeland; 1 son, George E. Hill II of Zephyrhills; 4 grandsons, Joseph Giglio III, Benjiman Hill, Dennis Davis II and Cameron Hill; 1 granddaughter, Stephanie Davis. Anthony William “Little Man” Moats
Moats, Anthony William “Little Man”, 34, Lacoochee, died as a result of an auto accident on Sunday, April 6, 2008 near Bushnell. He was born December 10, 1973 in Dade City to Anthony Johnny Moats and Marline Dees Moats. He loved to go fishing, hunting with his father, watching TV including football, car racing and other sports programs. He opened his own live bait and tackle shop. He had worked for Davey Tree Company, building bridges, and currently working as an electrician in North Florida. He is survived by his parents, Anthony Johnny and Marline Dees Moats, his sisters, Lisa Ann Moats and Christine Lucile Moats; his nephews and nieces: Bianca Garvison, Heather Garvison, Larry Garvison, Jr. and Zachary Payne, all of Lacoochee; many other uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Boeing Vertol as a Composite Fabricator. He was united in marriage to Dolores in Philadelphia, PA who predeceased him in 1976. Alfred J. "Joe" Ivie
Ivie, Alfred J., “Joe”, 93, of Dade City, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2008. He was born in Alabama on June 28, 1914 and moved to Atlanta as a young child. In 1939 he moved to Jacksonville, and served in the US Navy during WWII. He moved to Dade City
in 2002. He was a member of the F&A Masons in Jacksonville since 1942, and was Past Master of Riverside Lodge #266. He was a hard working, loving and caring man and has been described as all the best humanity has to offer. Survivors include two sons, A.J. Ivie, Jr. and his wife Janet, of Dade City and Glenn A. Ivie and his wife Patricia of Jacksonville; two daughters, Mary Perry Roussel of Lakeland and Emily Hill of Seattle; a sister, Mary Dell Sutton of Coral Springs, Fla.; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Ester Ivie, and his second wife, Lorene Ivie in 1997. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 12:30p.m.at the First Presbyterian Church in Dade City. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the charity of your choice.
Wayne R. Druda
Druda, Wayne R., 58, of Dade City, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008 at home. A native of New Jersey, he moved to this area in 1993. He was a retired Executive Assistant in Retail Sales. He was Jehovah’s Witnesses and an active member of the Dade City North Congregation. Survivors include his father, Dante Druda of Dunnellon; his mother, Pearl Druda of New Port Richey; and a sister, Joyce Patterson and her husband, Jim of Dunnellon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Druda. Memorial Services will be held in the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Dade City at 3pm on Saturday, April 12, 2008.

Ruby L. Butler, 69 of Dade City went to join her Daughter Linda in heaven on Sunday, March 30,2008 under the care of Hernando Pasco Hospice. She was a beloved Mama, Nanny, Sister and Friend. Ruby was preceded in death by her father and mother Felton and Maude Hill. Her daughter Linda Smith and brother in law Ennis Kennedy, nephews Jimmy Hill and David Kennedy. Ruby was born September 06,1938 in Zephyrhills, FL. Where she grew up attending and graduating from Zephryhills High School. She was employed at Bealls Department Store for over 20 years always taking great pride and joy in her work. One of her favorite past times was playing the slot machines at Seminole Casino with her daughter Pam.She was a devoted and dearly loving mother to her surviving children her daughter Pamela Tait and son George "Buddy" Butler Jr both of Dade City. Proud and loving Nanny to Jennifer Robinson, Jeremy Tait, Eric Smith and Jesse Smith all of Dade City. Son in law Danny Smith also of Dade City. Two of her greatest joys in life were her two great grandsons Jakavus "Jay" Robinson and Logan Tait of Dade City. Loving sister to her brothers Odis Hill and wife Bunny of Dade City and Ira Hill and wife Cindy of Chilotte, North Carolina. Special sister to Mildred Kennedy of Zephyrhills. Ruby also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who all loved her. Special friends Steve, Dottie,Terri, Kat and life long friend Priss. Ruby will be remembered most for her sparkling blue eyes , her giggle, compassion toward all and her love of life. He was retired from Mike Williams Construction and was Catholic by faith. Survivors include his wife, Inez; his children, Karen Reilly of Tampa, Teena Avadakian and Michael Williams both of Zephyrhills; a stepdaughter, Jill Costello of Virginia; four brothers, Russell and Stephen Williams, both of New Hampshire, Christopher Williams of California and Kerry Williams of Nevada; a sister, Peggy Sullivan of Dade City; and three grandchildren. William Donald Murphy
William Donald Murphy passed away on March 31, 2008 at his home in Wesley Chapel. He was born the son of Peter and Frances Murphy, on August 7, 1935 in Port Ewen, New York He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960, including the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Fidelina Menendez, on December 26, 1954. “Bill” worked in the metal business as warehouse laborer, salesman, and retired as vice president of his own company. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Pete and Jack, his sister and brother-in- law, Betty and Clarence Gardner, and brother-in-law Joseph Carrubba.. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Fidelina: his son, William D. Murphy and wife Crystal of Wesley Chapel; his daughter Deborah Jenney and husband Stephen of Jackman, Maine; 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren; sisters June Carrubba, Rosemary Allen and husband Frank, all of Kingston, New York; brother-in-laws, Wllliam Kracht and wife Barbara of Tampa,, Jose Menendez of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, April 5 at the Hodges Family Funeral Home, Zephyrhills, Florida. David A. Solan
David A. Solan, 59, of Wesley Chapel, FL died unexpectedly March 25, 2008. He was born in Hammond, IN and had recently moved with his family to Wesley Chapel in July 2007. He was a 12 year veteran of the US Air Force and had served in the Vietnam War. He retired in 2003 with 24 years as a pilot with American Airlines. His greatest gift of life was spending time with his family. Survivors include his loving wife, Kimberly; son, Matthew; daughter, Jamie Caroline; mother, Irene Solan; siblings, Joseph Solan (Maureen) and Sara Powell (Steve); and many other close family members and friends. A Graveside service will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Military Honors.
Anabel “Ann” Burghardt McKenzie Friedman
Friedman, Anabel “Ann” Burghardt McKenzie, 87, of Wesley Chapel, FL, died Monday, March 31, 2008. She was born in Baker, Montana, she and her husband, Max relocated to Florida about 1952. Anabel is preceded by her husband, Max in 1995. She leaves behind six children: Georgeann, George, Jr., Gordon, Kerry, Kim and Kevin; six grandchildren: Ron Wilhite, Julie Ann McKenzie, Kristin McKenzie, Kerry McKenzie, Jr., Lawson McKenzie and Teri Jo McKenzie; six great grandchildren: Brittney Watson, Joshua McKenzie, Megan McKenzie, Devan McKenzie, Mikayla McKenzie and Kiera Ann McKenzie. Mrs. Friedman retired as a nursing assistant from Tampa General Hospital. She accomplished many things during her lifetime, however, she would tell you her greatest accomplishment and legacy were her children. Her greatest love and joy in life was her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Truly Anabel was the example of the virtuous woman found in Proverbs 31 in God’s Word, The Bible. “She stretched out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. Strength and Honor are her clothing; She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up and call her blessed;” Proverbs 31:20, 25, 27, 28 KJV). She was a member of Victorious Life Church in Wesley Chapel. Thank you Mom! Truly you will be missed by all who’s lives you touched.

Ponticell, Walter J., Jr. “Wally”, 59, Wesley Chapel, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008 at East Hernando Pasco Hospice, Dade City. He was born July 3, 1948 in Chicago, IL the son of Walter, Sr. and Barbara Ponticell. He was an Air Force Viet Nam Veteran. He retired from Motorola as a computer network security specialist. He has lived in the area the last 5 years. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dr. Judith A. Ponticell; his brother, Paul Glenn (Leslie) Ponticell, his nephew, Brian Ponticell, both of Chicago; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Ackerman Chicago; a sister-in-law, Joan Ackerman, Carol Stream, IL. Memorial Services will be 3 pm Sunday, April 6 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Hwy 54 Chapel, Zephyrhills.
Charles "Charlie Brown" Crisp
Crisp, Charles, “Charlie Brown”, 89, of Dade City, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Royal Oak Nursing Center. A native of Kentucky, he spent most of his life in Virginia working in a Coal Mine. He was a decorated WWII Veteran serving in Europe from D-Day thru the Battle of the Buldge. He retired and moved to this area in 1979. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW, and the UMWA. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Blanche; two sons, Gerald Crisp and his wife, Mary of Webster and Phillip R. Crisp and his wife, Dianne of Dade City; a brother, Leon Crisp of Tracy City, TN; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008 at the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery.

Hans, Joseph Edwards, Sr., 79, Zephyrhills, FL. passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008. He was born April 6, 1928 in Camden, NJ to Harry and Lucy Hans. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and member of Teamsters Local #676 (Bryan Meats Co). He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna May Catling Hans, 3 sisters and a brother. Foxworth, Clela Kathryn, 86, a lifelong Dade City resident, past away Sunday, March 30, 2008 in Zephyrhills. She was born February 9, 1922 in Dade City to William Ben & Clela Agner Stone. She worked as a teacher at the First Baptist Church school program
and a Certified Nursing Assistant at Royal Oaks Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Arthur Foxworth, and her son: William Arthur Foxworth II. Kleppinger, Thomasina “Tommie” G., 73, Zephyrhills, passed away March 28, 2008 of lung cancer. She was born June 29, 1934 to Samuel Magro & Katherine O’Brien Magro in Philadelphia, PA the 3rd of 10 children. On January 28, 1950 she married John L. Kleppinger & raised 8 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Frank & sister Dolores. She is survived by her husband, 4 sons, John (Ray Leiker) Kleppinger, Jr. Palm Springs, CA, Tom (Lorrie) Kleppinger, Doylestown, PA, Jim (Barbara) Kleppinger, Lancaster, PA, Dan Kleppinger, Philadelphia, 4 daughters, Diane (John) Surra, Deming, NM, Janice Blewitt, Pinehill, NJ, Joyce (Billy) Filing, Burlington, NJ & Bev (Tim) Hutchins, Philadelphia. Thomasina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother as well as a dear sister & friend to many. She devoted herself to caring for her husband & all others she loved. Her passion in life was children; both her own & any that had the pleasure of meeting her. She was happiest when holding a baby & how her eyes would sparkle when playing with them. She retired to Zephyrhills with John where they redid their wedding vows twice in the last few years. She was a devout Roman Catholic who cherished her faith & was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was a long time resident of Kathleen, Fla and retired as a lunch room employee of Kathleen Junior High School after 27 years of service. She was a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Coats, parents Will and Verlie Carr, and sister Evelyn Langenhorst. O’Dea, Daniel B., 75, of Zephyrhills, passed away Monday, March 17, 2008 in Dade City under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. He was born January 31, 1933 in Astoria, NY, to Edmond & Mary Hester O’Dea and moved to this area 4 years ago from Long Island, NY. He was retired from the Public School System in New York, attended the First United Methodist Church in Zephyrhills, and was a friend of Bill Wilson for 34 years. He is survived by his wife of 15 years: Constance C. O’Dea, Zephyrhills, FL, one son: Joseph Trimpin, Zephyrhills, FL, one daughter: Kerriann Chiorando, Long Island, NY, his sister: Mary Larson, Long Island, NY, his brother: Edmond & (Bea) O’Dea, two grandsons: Jesse and Dakota, several nieces, nephews, and many other close family members. Virginia Ann Arduengo Duff
Duff, Virginia Ann Arduengo, 78, of Dade City, FL passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008 in Dade City. Virginia was born in Tampa to Anthony Joseph and Virginia Haskins Arduengo. She was the great great granddaughter of Levi and Nancy Dixon Collar, one of Tampa’s pioneer families. She attended Sacred Heart Academy. She married Arthur M. Duff on March 25, 1948. They lived and raised their family in Dade City. Art and Virginia were married for 60 years. She was preceded in death by her parents: Tony and Virginia, and her brother: Eugene Thomas Arduengo. She is survived by her husband: Arthur M. Duff of Dade City; her sons: Arthur J. Duff and his wife Cheryl of Battleground, WA, Daniel e. Duff and his wife Katherine of Lake City, FL, her daughter Teresa Duff Dillon and her husband John of Dade City, FL, her brother: Anthony J. Arduengo of Georgia; and grandchildren: John P. Dillon II, Joshua C. Dillon and his wife Kimberly, Keely Duff, Alex Duff, and Miranda Duff. There will be no wake or funeral services.
